Liquid Sunshine

For several weeks my umbrella has stayed firmly wrapped at the bottom of my baby bag, as the UK has basked in a mini heat wave; but when I woke this morning to monsoon like rain it was as if i had forgotten how to cope in such weather, How quickly I have forgotten that heat was not usual in the UK and sunny days and barney nights was not a normal British summer.

A cloud had not only descended on my home down but also on my wellbeing. I trudged around the house as if the world was about to end! I needed to get a positive outlook on our weather. I looked to Pinterest for maybe some words of wisdom and looks that would transform my usual drowned rat wet weather look and maybe give me a brighter outlook on these oh so common dreary days.

I didn't have to look for long and I was overwhelmed with love for rain or 'Liquid Sunshine' many people had boards dedicated too it where they had beautiful images of rain following and gorgeous quotes. As I scrolled through I could feel my storm cloud lifting and a rainbow appear as I too fell under the spell of these beautiful images of a wet British Summer.

I began to think that if I was truly to embrace the liquid sunshine I must look the part and my research didn't disappoint all I began to feel was embarrassment or how I had allowed myself to look.

Classic but works!!

Also there is no excuse for our children either as this picture shows

So next time it rains I will be doning my wellies and my mac
And truly dance in the rain,

Inspired Wednesday

I think I under estimate the power of time with my girlfriends.
With the summer apon us many of my friends with and without babies are free so lots of tea and chat is always in the calendar. However no more so than today did I feel how much better it made me feel.
Maybe it was the barmy air or the summer feeling but I came away the most positive and inspired I have done for a long time.
I came home and with a large mug of green tea I gave my little nail business a name and a blog followed.
I realised that sometimes friends don't even have to tell you to do something but just listen and it feels like a weight has been lifted and the light at the end of the tunnel is switched on again.
Also my friend has been telling me about the properties of green tea so I am going to try and make it my drink of choice.
